About Jessica the Proofreader
I started working in the publishing industry in 2002, as a secretary at Market House Books in Buckinghamshire. This was where I first learned to proofread, having always had a natural aptitude for spotting punctuation errors and spelling mistakes.
I began freelancing in 2006, working mostly on fiction. My client base as a professional proofreader has since grown to include major UK publishing houses and their imprints, large companies, charitable organisations, and small businesses. I also proofread manuscripts directly for authors, both published and pre-published.
In my spare time, I enjoy walking my two Welsh Corgis with my family, reading (yes, always!), dreaming of future short breaks, window-shopping, and wondering how the farm I created on Stardew Valley during the pandemic is faring. I am also a regular reviewer for NetGalley.
